CHARMAN, Gordon Stewart Passed peacefully at the Hamilton General Hospital surrounded by his loving family on March 23, 2017 at the age of 62. Loving father of Lee Sanders and Tanya Mamone, Sabrina Altpeter, Kealyn Sanders and Pat Leblanc, Michael Altpeter, Jordan and Laura Charman, Lauren Charman and Elvir Kovacevic. Cherished grandfather of Meighan, Jesse James, Connor, Charlie, Olivia and Bella. Cherished son of the late Andrew and Isabella Charman. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Sheila and Dennis Froude. Sadly missed by family, friends and all who knew him. Special thanks to the Hamilton General Hospital palliative team for their care and compassion. Gordon started his career in the family business, Charman Custom Drapery before moving on to bigger drapery firms such as Artistic Drapery, Dutlers and Levolor as a sales representative for Western Ontario. A dedicated salesman, his career continued as new and used car manager and sales trainer at Herron GM, Addison GM and Queenston Chevrolet. He attended Mohawk College for municipal planning. Later, he worked for The Hamilton Spectator as an Automotive Classifieds photographer. Visitation will be held at Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main Street, Dundas, on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. followed by a service, then interment at Grove Cemetery, 129 York Road, Dundas. In kindness, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation will be appreciated by the family. He is remembered by those who knew him as generous in spirit and willing to lend a kind ear and wisdom to those around him. “He was a lot of dads” but gave all of his children and grandchildren the gift of unconditional love.
