Passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday, August 12, 2016 in his 71st year. Yianni was a caring, selfless man who lived his life helping others before himself. Devoted husband of Despoula for 49 wonderful years. Adored Dad of Bill (Franca) and Mike. Proud Pappou of Yianni and Christina. Dear brother of Chrisoula, Filitsa, and Aristidis. Beloved uncle of Bessie, George, Mikey, and Stella. Good friend of Thothori. Yianni will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his family and friends in Canada and in Greece. He was a master in the kitchen, with his family always excited to eat his barbecue and roast lamb. He was Uber before it was even popular, always driving around his family, neighbours, and friends. Visitation will take place at the Jerrett Funeral Home, 660 Kennedy Rd., Scarborough, on Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 1385 Warden Ave., Scarborough. Interment at Pine Hills Cemetery. Donations in Memory of Yianni may be made to Sunnybrook Health Sciences – Odette Cancer Centre.
