JANET BROWN (nee BERTRAM) With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Janet Brown on May 17, 2017, at the age of 85 years. Cherished wife of Warren, beloved mother of Nancy and Carolyn and loving grandmother of Elizabeth and Peter Morrow. Janet will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. As a young woman, leaving her parents’ farm and her beloved horses, Janet attended Trinity College at University of Toronto, where she met her future husband Warren. An active and professional woman, she pursued careers at Eaton’s, The Peterborough Children’s Aid Society and the Peel Board of Education before working independently as an Accountant and Real Estate Agent. Upon retirement, while living in her family home in Brampton, she wrote several histories of the Bertram family and became involved in the Dundas Museum and Archives, before moving to Greenway Retirement Home. Friends will be received at the Scott Funeral Home “Brampton” Chapel (289 Main Street North), on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 3 – 5 p.m. and for a celebration of Janet’s Life on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11 a.m. Interment in Brampton Cemetery (10 Wilson Avenue), to follow.
