SACCONE, Joe Robert Peacefully, at home on September 30, 2017 with his wife Mary of 52 years by his side. Loving and devoted Dad to Anna (Jerome), Diana (Paul) and Julie (Fabio). Best Nonno ever to Matthew, Jonathan, Sophia and Nicholas. Youngest brother to Ugo (Adelina) and Alex (Gabriella) and brother-in-law to Angelo (Margaret) and the late Vicky (Paolo). He will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Joe “Peppino” was born on May 28, 1939 to Nicola and Carmelina in Villa Santa Maria, Italy, where he lived until he immigrated to Toronto in 1955. In 1966, he moved to North York with his bride where he raised his family. In his early years in Canada, Joe became the Manufacturing Manager at Reliable Toy. In 1979, he and his brother Alex, together with their wives, opened Alex’s Restaurant. His last career change allowed him to do what he really loved with the opening of his home repair business. Joe was self-taught and could fix just about anything, sharing his knowledge happily with his sons-in-law and grandsons. He was loyal and kind to his family, friends and clients, staunchly committed to his Leafs and fiercly proud of his Caddy. He will be sorely missed by everyone whose lives he touched. Special thanks to the staff at St. Michael’s Hospital for its expertise, care and compassion. Visitation will be held at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge St. (at Goulding, south of Steeles), on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Paschal Baylon Church, 92 Steeles Ave. W., on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment Highland Memory Gardens.
