BURNS, JOHN EDWARD “TED” Former member of St. Thomas More Parish, Scarborough, Member Immaculate Conception Parish, Port Perry and member of the Knights of Columbus. Veteran WW II Signalman 1942 – 1946. Retired from CNCP Telecommunications in Toronto. Suddenly, on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at his home in Port Perry, at age 94. Ted Burns, beloved husband of the late Yvette (nee Hache). Loved father of Janine Burns, Thomas Burns and his wife Susan Viger and Micheline and her husband Timothy Hill. Loving grandfather of James, Sarah, Christopher, Jennifer and Michael. Predeceased by his brothers Hugh, James and William and his sisters Geraldine and Margaret. Survived by his sister Sr. Denise Burns CND and his brother Gerard Burns. Ted will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews. The family of Ted Burns will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, “McDermott – Panabaker Chapel”, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry, (905-985-2171) on Friday, June 23rd from 7 – 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1710 Scugog Street (Highway 7A) in Port Perry on Saturday, June 24th at 11:30 a.m. with Father Marco Testa officiating.
