BEST, John “Jack” Laurie World War II Royal Canadian Air Force Veteran. Peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, August 18, 2017 in his 97th year at Bay Ridges Long Term Care Pickering. Jack will be remembered for his outgoing personality, his love of sports and total devotion to his family. Jack loved to travel. Jack also loved being around the water, having owned a family cottage in the Haliburton area for 38 years. Jack was predeceased by his wife Jean, they were in their 69th year of marriage. Devoted father to Janet (Al), Lori (Andrew) and Kevin (Mary). Caring grandfather to Amie (Aaron), Matthew, Shawn, Stephanie, Jordan (Haylei), Kyle and Ryan. Great-grandpa to Nola and Miles. Friends may call at PINE HILLS CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough (north of St. Clair Ave. E., 416-267-8229) on Wednesday, August 23rd from 10-11 a.m. with the funeral to commence at 11 a.m. in the chapel.
