MaryAnnJANE (nee O’Brien)

JANE, MaryAnn (nee O’Brien) MaryAnn Jane of Ancaster, Ontario died peacefully on August 26, 2017 at Juravinski Hospital. She bravely faced a year long cancer journey with courage, tenacity and humour. She is predeceased by her parents, Wilfred Joseph and Mary Rita O’Brien. MaryAnn spent her 30 year career serving others as a Social Worker in her communities, school board and hospitals. She impacted countless lives with her dedication and compassion. She had a zest for life and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, being active and travelling. Her ability to tell a great story and amazing sense of humour made anything feel like an adventure. She was a loyal friend who will be missed by many, including those from Napanee, Peterborough, Burlington, Ancaster and St. Pete Beach, FL. She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years Michael; her twin daughters Ashley and Danielle (Alex); her beloved sisters Sharon Fada (Joe) and Judy Evans (David); along with many nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to Dr. Leighl and team at Princess Margaret Hospital, as well as the Juravinski Hospital. MaryAnn’s family is requesting that donations be made in her memory to Lung Cancer Canada to support much needed clinical research. Family and friends will be received at the DODSWORTH & BROWN FUNERAL HOME “Ancaster Chapel” – 378 Wilson Street East, on Wednesday, August 30th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at ST.
