HEWKO, Olga It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Olga, in her 97th year, who went to join her dearest husband John on Sunday, July 30, 2017. Olga was surrounded by her loving family at Juravinski Hospital. She leaves behind her sons Bob (Olga), Eugene, and Roman (Catherine); her grandchildren Leisha (Greg Robertson), Matthew (Tamari), Kelly Ann, Erin, John (Kristina), Nicholas (Danielle), Daniel (Rachelle); her great-grandchildren Cole, Liam, Luke, Jake, and Evan. Olga was a long serving member of the Ukrainian Women’s League at CYM where she cooked for many special events. She was also a dedicated member of the Holy Spirit Parish where for many years she supported the church by volunteering her time in making peroghy and cabbage rolls. Olga was a loving, caring mother to her family and she will be greatly missed by all. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME , 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. with Panachyda at 8 p.m. Funeral Service at Holy Spirit Ukrainian Church, 15 St. Olga Street, on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 10 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations in Olga’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
