Robert Anthony John GROVER
GROVER, Robert Anthony John April 15, 1956- March 24, 2017 With tremendous sorrow we announce the passing of our beautiful dad. Bob Grover was in his 61st year, and passed peacefully holding his wife’s hand. He was surrounded by his children at Hamilton General Hospital. He leaves behind his loving wife Dora of 43-years; his Little Women; Rosie-Ann (Ian), Mary-Lee (Sean) and Sherry-Lynn. His only son, Bobby Jr. (Micky). He was Papa and best friend to three-year-old Belladora George, his cherished granddaughter. She will never forget the daily flag parade, doing Taekwondo in the yard and the tangerines in your pocket. Dad grew up on Emerald Street North and went to St. Patrick’s grade school where he first met Dora and their love story began. He worked at Stelco for 25 years and would go on to fulfill his dream of opening a family business. As the co-founder of Dora’s Delicatessen & Catering he helped build the business into the success it is today. As a fixture on Ottawa Street North, he will be sadly missed by fellow merchants, neighbours, friends and the many lives he touched. He was a proud east ender and ever loyal TiCats fan. He was a genuine and generous person who would give his last dollar to someone in need. Dad was fascinated with history, politics and news. He was a comedian, an artist and avid bird watcher. He’s now in heaven with his cherished father, George Stanley Anthony Grover, his side-kick and brother Huck, and his extended family. He will be sadly missed by his beloved nephews Huck and Cory, and his sisters Rose and Jeannie. “You can rest now handsome. Until we see you again.” Visitation will be held at LG WALLACE Funeral Home, 151 Ottawa St. N. (905-544-1147), Monday 7-9 p.m., Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Church, 440 King St. E. www.lgwallace.ca
