DANKOWICH, Walter —
A gentle soul loved by all, Walter Dankowich passed away peacefully at the Oakville Trafalgar Hospital on Saturday, May 20, 2017, surrounded by his immediate family. Walter was a devoted husband to his beloved wife Nadia (Tymchak) married in 1951. Loving father to his sons Don (Juliana Tychowskyj), Stephen, Andrew (Joanne Holdsworth) and Paul. Cherished grandfather to Noah, Thomas and Markian. Brother to Iris Trewin, and the late Lena Slonetsky and uncle to many nephews and nieces. Walter was born on April 5, 1926 in Fort William (now Thunder Bay), graduated as a Chemical Engineer from Queen’s University in 1948, moving into a rewarding 35-year career with Gulf Oil. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter “Neweduk-Erin Mills” Chapel, 1981 Dundas St. W., Mississauga (just east of Erin Mills Pkwy.), on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Panakhyda 7:30 p.m. Orthodox Rite of Funeral will be held at the St. Demetrius Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 3338 Lakeshore Boulevard West, Toronto, on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Volodymyr Cemetery.
