WilliamMorgan O’BRIEN

O’BRIEN, William Morgan With great sadness after a brief illness, our cherished Bill passed away comfortably holding the hand of his daughter, Trish, in St. Joseph’s Health Centre, on Saturday, September 2, 2017. Bill was a Royal Air Force Advanced Flight Instructor in Stratford on Avon, England during World War II. He was born September 14, 1921, the first son of Margaret Shevlin and William O’Brien. Bill is survived by his daughter, Trish, with whom he shared a special closeness. Trish was the “apple of his eye”. Bill also had a loving relationship with his son-in-law, Bob Harris. They shared many enjoyable trips to the cottage and western Canada. His greatest joy and pride, however, came much later in life with the gifts of his three delightful grandchildren, Emma, Patrick and Meaghan. Grandpa Bill, as he was affectionately called by many, was as devoted and loving a grandparent that ever lived, rarely missing a hockey game, a dance recital, or a horseback riding competition. Bill was predeceased by his sister Margaret Moran and brother, Gordon O’Brien. Visitation will be held at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West (one block east of Kerr, 905-844-2600), Oakville from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 6th at St. Leo Catholic Church, 277 Royal York Road, Etobicoke. Interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Peterborough. For those who wish, please consider making a donation to Rosalie Hall, 3020 Lawrence Ave. E., Scarborough, M1P 2T7.
