Henry Christopher Wade

Henry Christopher Wade

On June 12, 2021, Henry “Christopher” Wade of Brantford, Ontario passed away at the age of 69 years. Chris will be lovingly remembered by his best friend, constant companion, and his wife of 38 years, Jo-Ann, who he loved as big as the sky. Chris throughout his life wore many hats (most notably his Davy Crocket hat as child and his iconic Tilly as an adult) including as a teacher, children entertainer, actor/singer, photographer, job coach, and more importantly, Dad Extraordinaire to his four sons, Ryan (Jamie), Mathew (Lori), Adam (Robin) and Aaron (Emily).

His parental love extended to those who only knew him as “Grumps”, including his grandchildren: Julie (Joey), Anna, Connor, Lilly, Remy, and Jackson, his nieces and nephews, and the many foster children that he opened his home and heart to. He will be fondly remembered as the mischievous but always cute brother by his sister, Annabell (Peter), and for his boisterous presence by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Angela (Tim), Michael (Denise), Nick (Suzette), David (Linda) and Raymond (Evelyn). Chris was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Bernadette, his sister Nancy, mother and father-in-law Judy and Raymond and sister-in-law, Sandy. Chris’ passion and excitement for life was felt by everyone that met him by his warm smile (including the strangers that he would honk and wave at to embarrass whoever was in the car with him).

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family is requesting donations be made in lieu of flowers in Chris’ name to The Children’s Aid Society of Hamilton, 26 Arrowsmith Road, Hamilton ON L8E 4H8. For more information please visit www.hamiltoncas.com/donation-centre
