John Phillip GAUTHIER

John Phillip GAUTHIER

February 27, 1949 – June 28, 2021

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of John Phillip Gauthier. John passed away peacefully at home with family by his side after a two-month struggle with pancreatic cancer.

Beloved husband of Rita of 46 years. He will be dearly missed by his sisters, Patricia Hislop (James) and Elizabeth Gauthier (Russel). Predeceased by his mother, Casa Maria (Marie) and his father John William (Bill) Gauthier. John will be lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, grandnieces/nephews, cousins and dear friends.

After graduating from Mohawk College in Industrial Management Technology, John started his career as a Time Study Analyst at International Harvester, where he was known as Jake. Not willing to accept early retirement, John worked part-time at Weeks Home Hardware for 7 years. John’s passions were friends and family, travelling the world with Rita, bird-watching, fishing, The Beatles and red wine. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. A. Junaid, Dr. A. Montgomery, Dr. O. Levine, Dr. P. Smith, Home care nurse Anne and Palliative Care nurse Jennifer.

Visitation will be held at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue East on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Please follow the direction of the funeral home staff upon arrival. Private Funeral Service will be livestreamed on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 11 a.m.; link to be provided on funeral home website.
