It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ron on July 5, 2021 in his 80th year.
Beloved husband and best friend of 55 years to Trish (nee Havers). Loving father to Scott (Heidi), Debbie Burns (Ron) and Jen Hartwell (Wayne). Cherished and proud Papa to Sydney, Emily, Paige, Cayden and Ty. Dear brother to George (Diane), Darlene Magnuson (Jeff) and the late Ray (Susan). He will be fondly remembered by all his extended family, neighbours and many close friends.
Ron was a proud member of the Mt. Hamilton Legion, Branch 163. He retired from Dofasco in 2000 after 38 years of dedicated service. He was a lifetime member of the Hamilton Veterans Dart League and was an avid golfer and devoted Montreal Canadiens fan.
A special thank you to all the wonderful staff at the Juravinski Hospital (Ward 3A) especially, Loretta, Natalie and Francesca for their exceptional care and support. His family will receive friends at the Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Ave. E. on Friday, July 9th from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.
Guests are asked to follow all Covid protocols, practicing social distancing while wearing a mask. A private celebration of his life will be held by his family.
