Anna (Mastroianni) DeSimone

(1938 -2021) Peacefully passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 in her 83rd year surrounded by her family. Devoted wife of her late loving husband, Giuseppe (2017) of 59 years. Loving mother of Giovanni (Angela), Isabella (the late Enzo) Filice, Frank (Angela) and Teresa (Anthony) Pellegrino. Cherished Nanna of Joseph (Stephanie), Cristina (Greg), Sonia, Daniel (Diana), Frank (Sara), Nick, Andrew, Nicholas, Marcus, Anthony and Bis-Nanna to Sofia.

Predeceased by her parents Alfonso and Teresa Mastroianni and by her in-laws Giovanni and Isabella and step-mother-in-law Vittoria DeSimone. Dear sister and sister-in-law of the late Carmine (Ida) Mastroianni, Fillipina and Mario Calabrese, Maria and Silvio Veltri, Luisa (the late Pasquale) Mastroianni, Settimia (the late Stefano) Corcione.

Dear sister-in-law of Salvatore (Lina) DeSimone, the late Francesco (Rita) DeSimone, Angela (Rosario) Olivito, the late Caterina and Giuseppe Barberio, the late Teresina and Giuseppe Durante and the late Rosina and Giovanni Allevato. She will also be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends in Canada and Italy. Anna was a dedicated cleaner for 18 years at the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board. She was an avid cook, baker, homemaker and enjoyed making many outstanding meals for her family.

She was selfless and not only helped her own family but was always there for her many relatives and friends without hesitation. Special thank you to Dr. Leong and staff as well as Clarissa and Rachel and the Bayshore staff. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Friday, March 5, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, 304 Highway #8, Stoney Creek on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 10 a.m. Private Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery.

According to Provincial regulations due to Covid-19, there is a limit to the number of people who may attend the Funeral Home and Church at one time.
