BOTTRELL, Catherine Ann

BOTTRELL, Catherine Ann November 7, 1967 – March 9, 2019 It is with profound sadness that our family announces the sudden and unexpected passing of Catherine Bottrell, only seven months after the passing of her loving husband, Paul.

Catherine was an adoring mother to Laura and son-in-law James, who are devastated by the sudden loss of their parents. She is survived by her loving parents Bill and Dorothy Pelletier. Loved and missed by her brothers Brian and Steven, sister-in-law Donnie, nephew Rory and nieces Cailey, Elise and Emma. Daughter-in-law to Mary and Kenneth Bottrell, and sister-in-law to Mark (Margaret), Jim (Jackee), nieces Alanna, Virginia, Anne, and nephew Ken. Catherine was a beautiful person inside and out. Together with her husband Paul, she provided her daughter with a beautiful childhood full of adventure and inspiration, which she will carry with her forever.

Catherine was bright and intelligent, with a life-long passion for academics and learning. She loved the outdoors and was always at her happiest when camping, hiking or canoeing on a lake up north. Since a very young age, Catherine was a passionate horse lover and horseback rider. She will be deeply missed by her equine companion, Bobby. Catherine loved to read and watch the stars. She was always learning something new. Her intelligent wit and sense of humour will be missed by all who knew her. Her soul was gentle and kind.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Equestrian Association for the Disabled, where Catherine was a dedicated volunteer and therapeutic riding instructor for many years.

A public visitation will take place on Thursday, March 14th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home, 378 Wilson Street East, Ancaster. A funeral for all friends and family will take place at Regina Mundi Parish, 631 Mohawk Road, Hamilton, on Saturday, April 6th at 10:00 a.m.
