BENNETT, Donna Lynn Peacefully at Emmanuel House Hospice on Saturday, August 11, 2018.
Cherished wife of David and loving Gran of Aidan, his brother Gavin and their sisters Airiana and Airiam. Donna will be sadly missed by “the kids”, Frank and Christine. Sister of Dennis Sheppard (Gabi) and sister-in-law of Cathy Fawcett (Bill). Predeceased by daughter Shannon (1991), parents Roy and Verna Sheppard and in-laws Art and Mae Bennett. Will be deeply missed by her best friend of 58 years Linda Devison. Donna was a retired elementary teacher with the HWDSB and spent many years as a specialist in Special Education. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all of the staff and volunteers at Emmanuel House for all of the care, kindness, respect and dignity they provided in Donna’s final days. A special thanks to Linda Devison and John and Mary Gahagan for all of their love and support. We would also like to thank Donna’s at-home visiting nurse Clarissa for the care and compassion she provided while Donna was still able to be at home.
Visitation at the MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. Interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to Emmanuel House or the Hamilton SPCA would be greatly appreciated.“Forever”
