HAYTER, Donald Franklin In his 80th year, passed away Saturday, November 10th surrounded by his family.
Loving partner to Orla O’Brien, who passed away only months before. Loving parent to Kim, Bruce, Eric, Vikki, and Lara. Grandpa will be missed dearly by his grandchildren Ryan, Jessica and Gabriel; Ryan, Tyler, and Nathan; Vivien; Alex; and Luca.
Don worked and retired as an electrician from Dofasco, in Hamilton, Ontario after beginning his adult life as a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force. He loved the outdoors as was evidenced by his yearly camping trips with his children which were some of his favourite memories. He valued his physical abilities as a soccer player and referee, also completing “Around the Bay” marathons well into his 50’s. He was an enthusiastic guitar player and was one of the favourites in Hess Village’s folk club.
Don found his faith later in life and will be happy to join Orla as part of God’s family.
