CHAMBERS, Helen Marie (nee KNIBBS) August 21, 1929 – December 9, 2020 The family of our mom, grandmother and great-grandmother, Helen Chambers, are saddened to announce her passing. She left us peacefully with the love of her family in her heart on December 9, 2020.
Helen was happily married to our dad, Bill for 58 years prior to his passing in 2011. She was a wonderful mother to Debbie (Jim) and Kim (Bobby), loved and cherished grandmother to Jacqueline (David), Vanessa (Simon), Olivia, Kevin (Amanda), Keith (Meagan). Adored great-grandmother to Lucy, Claire; Jaxson, McKenna, Adeline; Hannah, Charlie; Nathaniel and Jacob. Best friend of June and Maureen. Family and friends, of which there were many, were the center of Helen’s life for 91 years. She will be remembered as a caring, welcoming, independent, happy, best conversationalist, sharp card player, elegant, voracious reader, talented knitter and baker, and a true fun person with the greatest sense of humour. Helen would find the silver lining in every cloud, eternally optimistic noting the good in any situation and every person she met.
Those who loved and knew her were blessed with her caring presence, how she always remembered the details of their day and what was important for them to talk about. Truly, she was like a warm and comforting hug. We will miss mom, nanny, GG, nan, Helen so very much. We are blessed that the best of her lives on in those she loved. We will honour and embrace her love of family, care of friends, zest for living each day with optimism, smiling at a stranger and finding fun and joy in every second.
