JANET DOROTHY McDONOUGH

JANET DOROTHY McDONOUGH

McDONOUGH, JANET DOROTHY (nee BRAZIER) Janet was stubborn in nature and generous to a fault.

As the matriarch of her family, she placed them in priority far ahead of herself. Work ethic was her zeal and her ultimate goal in life was for all to succeed. Janet passed peacefully in her sleep on August 28, 2018 at her daughter Karen Khan’s home surrounded by family at the age of 85. Many knew Janet as Jade Black her nom de plume. She raised three beautiful children in east Toronto. At the age of 40 Janet became a York University alumnus. She went on to become one of the few female executives at IBM Canada during the 1980s.

Janet is now reunited in heaven with her husband John, brother and sister Tom and Marie, and daughter Marie, among others.

She is survived by her loving children: Karen and Bill, nieces and nephews Sandy, Scott, Wendy, Warren and Anne, grandchildren, Basil, Eric, Adam, William, Holly, Gary, Sarah, Lily, Ivy and Leigh and great-grandchildren, Lucy, Kalum and Zara. Cremated in Campbell River, BC, ashes will rest there and at the burial site with her late husband, John Thomas McDonough at Holy Cross Cemetery in Thornhill, Ontario.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family to celebrate her life and achievements.
