NEWELL, Mary Madeline (nee Marranca)November 22, 1930- March 27, 2019 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our cherished aunt and lifelong friend, Mary Newell.
Mary is predeceased by her beloved husband Jim of almost 40 years, her sisters Ann Stefan and Pat Condello as well as her stepchildren Craig and Marcia. She is survived by her brother Gus Marranca (Doris), nieces Christine Spotswood (David), Teresa Albert (Shawn), Kim Hramiec, nephew Derek Marranca (Dana) and her stepchildren Megan and Brian. Mary will be deeply missed by her lifelong friend Wanda Furtak. She will fondly be remembered by Ryan, D.J., Kristen, Colton, Wyatt, Krysta, Paige, Colin, Gail, Jeremy and Robert.
A heartfelt thank you to Darlene (aka Daryl) for her exemplary care and compassion. Special thanks to the Calacare and Queens Garden staff members.
Mary always put family first. She led an exemplary life and her legacy will live on through the many people she touched.
Friends may visit with the family at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME , 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Sunday, March 31, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be held at 2 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at ST. THOMAS THE APOSTLE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 715 Centre Rd., Waterdown on Monday, April 1, 2019 at 11 a.m. Entombment at Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington.
If desired, donations to the Royal Botanical Gardens or St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
