PEREIRA, Jose With sorrow in our hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father and Vavô after a short but courageous battle with cancer on April 6, 2019.
José was born April 14, 1943 in Relva, Sao Miguel, Azores. He came to Canada in 1970 and worked hard to build a beautiful life for his family. He fulfilled his dream and led a life full of integrity, dignity and hard work. Left to mourn is his devoted wife of 50 years Laura, his children Joe Jr. (Dorothy), Sandra (Danny Silva), Dianne (Brian Tortyna) & Nelson (Sarah). His love of family lives on in his grandchildren, Alexis, Harrison, Felicia, Victoria and Xavier whom he cherished. He will be missed by his loyal four legged companion Tucker. He will be fondly remembered by his extended family in Canada, USA and The Azores. He has left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him and we were blessed to have loved and been loved by him.

Markey Chapel” , 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Parish at Our Lady of Lourdes site, 416 Mohawk Road East, Hamilton on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Burial at Our Lady of The Angels Catholic Cemetery, Stoney Creek.
