RAY, Stefan September 5, 1925 – October 6, 2018 Passed away peacefully on October 6, 2018 at Hamilton General Hospital surrounded by his family and their love in his 94th year. Loving husband to Gizella for 65 years. Cherished father of Mary Ray, Regina Bell (John), and Slavko Ray (Christine). Adored grandpa to Lisa, David (Nicole), Kevin, Laura, Christina, Lucy, and Benjamin. Great-grandpa (GG Pa) to Kael, Brooklyn, Leo, and Everly. He will be deeply missed by his nephew Ivan Raj (Draga) and family in Slovenia.
Stefan was a lifelong dedicated member of St Gregory the Great Parish and St Joseph Society and was deeply devoted in his faith and church community. He supported his family as an employee of Canadian Engineering Inc. Stefan enjoyed life at Maplecrest Retirement Home in Grimsby before moving to Clarion Nursing Home. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Clarion for their support and compassion.
Visitation will be held at MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME , 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Wednesday, October 10th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 3:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great Slovenian Church, 125 Centennial Pkwy. N., on Thursday, October 11th at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada in Stefan’s memory.
