Raymond Michael MANSELL P.Eng.

MANSELL, P.Eng., Raymond Michael University of Toronto 1975, BASc. It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Ray on Friday, October 19, 2018, at age 66, surrounded in the loving presence of his wife, sons and brother. He died with dignity and grace, as he lived his life.

Ray leaves his wife Rose (nee Bradshaw), having recently celebrated a milestone 44th wedding anniversary. His two beloved sons Michael, (Stacey) and Stephen, forever fiercely proud of their many accomplishments in life, both personal and professional. Grandpa Ray cherished a special bond with his beautiful granddaughter Adina Grace, smiles only they understood, even in his final days. Ray also leaves his brother Gordon (Inis), many cousins from both families and a wide group of close Uxbridge friends. Lifelong friends Anne and John, Michael and Margaret, their children and grandchildren, who have also become members of our family. Ray was predeceased by his parents Alvin and Eleanor Mansell.

As a graduate of St. Michael’s Choir School in Toronto, Ray played the organ at several Toronto churches growing up, working diligently and paying his own way through university, paid in full at graduation. Upon university graduation in Electrical Engineering, Ray was recruited by Motorola Canada Limited. His outstanding ability to solve complex challenges was immediately recognized by management. His particular quiet genius was rewarded as he quickly attained the position of Manufacturing Engineering Manager at age 26, successfully managing an established group of colleagues, some twice his age. After 20 years, with Motorola downsizing, Ray joined other companies to round out his CV. He travelled the globe, working in Sweden for six months, Pakistan and enjoyed countless trips to India, where he met new colleagues, studied the culture and brought home fresh spices. Ray’s most recent position was in the capacity of Vice President of Network Engineering with Genwave Technologies, where he was an instrumental component in the initial orchestration of the company from day one of its inception. He reluctantly only resigned due to ill health. As a master woodworker, our home is filled with many of Ray’s beautiful creations.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge (905-852-3073) on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 1-4 p.m. A Time of Sharing is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
