SCHRAM, Albert T. “Mr. Hockey” Peacefully, with family by his side at Edgewater Gardens, Dunnville on Friday, October 12, 2018 in his 90th year. Albert Schram beloved husband of the late Alice Schram. Loving father to Cathy and Greg Hill, Jim and Maureen, Pat and Randy Smith, Shelley and Grayling Pickell, Barry, Judy and Jeff Booker, and Bob. Proud and loving Grandpa of Nick (Karen), Mike, Amanda (Harvey), Marybeth (Kelly), Tyler (Jess), Chad (Kelseigh), Justin, Beth (Daren), Shawn (Alicia), Sarah (Kris), Caden, Heather (George) and 18 great-grandchildren. Lovingly remembered by his brother Russell and sister-in-law Bea Schram. Sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents Whitney and Sarah, children Danny and Mary, brothers Ed, Lawrence (Betty), sisters Pansy, Sylvia and sister-in-law Nancy.

Albert “Mr. Hockey” was a fixture of Dunnville Minor Hockey not for years but generations. Even though he worked fulltime at John Deere Welland for over 46 years he gave freely of his time to help foster and promote sports in Dunnville. Albert was the first to insist he could not do it alone but with the help of his loving wife Alice. Albert was The OMHA Man of the Year in 1981, received many awards and honours including the first inductee to the Dunnville Sports Wall of Fame. With all of his accomplishments the one he treasured the most was his family who gave him the most pride and joy.

Visitation on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at JW Hart Funeral Home, 113 Lock St East Dunnville with Funeral Service on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 11:00 at Calvary Pentecostal Church, 1241 Hwy 3 Dunnville followed by reception then interment at Fonthill Cemetery. Donations to help more kids register with hockey can be made to Dunnville Minor Hockey, or to Jarvis Caring Cupboard or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would honour Albert’s life.
