It is with great sadness that the family of Alda Stefani (nee Zarucchi) announce her sudden passing at Richview Manor in Maple on July 18, 2017 in her 86th year. Devoted wife of the late Vittorio Stefani; loving mother of Rosanne (Sam Marinucci) and Silvana (Dominic Pede); proud and caring nonna of Alexandra, Stefania and David.
Dear sister of Albina (Gaetano), Elena (Romano) and Irma, all of Switzerland, and predeceased by brother Danilo (Rita) and sister Anita (Ezio) of Italy; sister-in-law to Paride (Winnie), Colomba (Carlo), Lina (Mario), Tullio (Leonilde), Mario (Rina), Giulia (Marco), Antonietta (Gianfranco), Ettore (Agnese), Bruna (Anselmo) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alda was born in Chiavenna, Italy and lived and worked in Switzerland where she met Vittorio. In 1968 she joined Vittorio in Toronto to start their life in Canada. She maintained her strong connection to her birthplace by visiting Italy every year to enjoy the mountain air and hiking with her sisters. She was a kind and gentle soul who appreciated the finer things in life. She loved to dance, listen to music, watch figure skating and spend time with her family. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 24 at 11:00 am at St. Clare’s Roman Catholic Church (1118 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto). Interment to follow at Prospect Cemetery (1450 St. Clair Avenue West, Toronto).
