ALTOBELLI, Achilli (Archie) August 12, 1930 – August 7, 2016 Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep, if I should live another day, I pray the Lord to guide my way. Archie passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the Juravinski Hospital at the age of 85. He leaves behind his wife Frances (nee Marranca) of 57 years. Loving father of the late David, Peter and Mary Catherine, Paul, his late infant son Andrew, and father-in-law of Michele and Liliana. Cherished grandfather of Thomas, Samuel, Francesca, Adrian, Joseph, Nicole, Christian and Matthew. Predeceased by his parents Amelia Franceschini and Anthony Altobelli, stepfather Pasquale Franceschini and mother and father-in-law Petrina and Vincenzo Marranca. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Angeline and the late Pasquale Tamilia, Rosanna and Mario Piro, Mary and Vincent Marino, Gasper and Beverley Marranca and the late Lena and the late Omero Pataracchia. Archie will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather by his extended family, Blaise and Barbara Accomando and children. Archie was an employee of Robertson Building Systems and coaching baseball was his greatest joy. He was a lifelong resident of the Rosedale Area, President and Executive of the Rosedale Community Council during the 1970s and a member of the committee during the building of the Rosedale Arena. A special thank you to the doctors and nursing staff at the Juravinski Hospital for all of the loving and caring compassion shown. Visitation at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E. (near James St.) on Wednesday, August 10 from 2-4 and 5-9 p.m. with Vigil prayers at 8:45 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Eugene’s Church (corner of Parkdale and Queenston Rd.) on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington.
