ANDREAS CHARALAMBOUS It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Andreas “Papouli” Charalambous on July 3, 2016 at the age of 82 at Erie Shores Hospices in Leamington, Ontario with his loving and devoted family by his side. He bravely fought and lost his battle with cancer. He was born on April 1, 1934 to the parents of Efpraxia and Charalambos. Loving husband of Maria. Beloved father of his devoted and loving daughter Ephe and sons Charlie and Bill (Joanne). Proud Papouli to Lyndsy, James, Andrew and Amber. Adoring great- grandfather of his precious Athena. Brother of the late Costa and survived by sisters Angela and Rosemary. Andreas was loved and well respected by all of his nieces and nephews and will be sadly missed. He was especially respected by Shastina Barlow, Joe Kazoun and Jim Pillon who were very near and dear to his heart. Andy was a strong man who never stopped at anything to be supportive to his family. He attended every one of his granddaughter Amber’s basketball games. A devoted sports fan; always cheering for his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs, Raptors, Blue Jays and the Humber Hawks. Papouli was always walking for miles and now he will get to walk through the gates of heaven. Visitation will be held at HERITAGE FUNERAL CENTRE, 50 Overlea Blvd., 416-423-1000, on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 2 – 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in Metamorphosis Tou Sotiros Greek Orthodox Church at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2016. Interment to follow at Pine Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Erie Shores Hospice would be appreciated.
