André L. BURTAIRE

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of André Burtaire at the age of 87 on July 29, 2016. Dear son of predeceased parents Paul Burtaire and Esther Guillon and loving predeceased brother Bernard Burtaire. André will be missed by his niece Martine Burtaire, nephew Michel Burtaire, wife Christiane, great-niece Marie Sophie and longtime and dear friend Paul-Antoine.

André became a permanent resident of Canada in 1951 having emigrated from his homeland France. André was driven by his work. He managed “European Cars Service”, a company created by him to serve the transportation needs of travellers and vacationers to Europe. André was a people person who developed and maintained long term friends and relationships. A refreshingly confident and cheerful voice that made travellers and vacationers to Europe feel secure in their transportation arrangements. His work was his life but he was also interested in his heritage, André had a passion for books and articles related to France and Greece. His interest in Post Card Recipes and some of his own discoveries are also remarkable. A special thank you to the staff at The Annex, Revera Retirement Home for their support and kindness in his latest years. Visitations will be held at the Cardinal Funeral Homes Ltd. “Bathurst Chapel” (366 Bathurst Street, north of Dundas Street W., 416-603-1444), on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. A Private Cremation will take place following the visitation period at a later date.
