MONK, Andrew Passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the age of 76. Beloved husband of Sandra (nee Cameron). Loving father of David and his wife Fiona of Milton and Leanna and her husband Edwin Carter of Vaughan. Proud grandfather of Calum, Jamie, Keira, Isla and Gavin. Son of the late Archie and Mary Monk of Toronto. Dear brother of Fran and Richard Halford, Don and Bonnie Monk and brother-in-law of Lynne and Bob Hancock, Keren and Steve Graham, Barbara and Mike Patriquin and the late Graeme Cameron. Also remembered by many nieces and nephews, cousins and their families. He will also be sadly missed by many great friends. Andy spent the first five years of his teaching career at Bloor Collegiate in Toronto and then taught Mathematics and Computer Science at ODCVI in Orillia for 28 years. He was an avid bridge player, football and wrestling coach, amateur historian and master of puns. He was an active supporter of many community activities and loved to travel. The greatest passion of his life was his family. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Mariposa Inn & Conference Centre, 400 Memorial Ave., Orillia, between 2 and 5 p.m. on Friday, September 29th.
