ANNE McLEAN (nee BALMER) Of Orillia, Ontario passed peacefully in her home at Leacock Retirement Lodge on Friday, September 16, 2016 at the age of 90. Wife of the late George McLean. Beloved sister of Ernest Balmer (wife Barbara). Dear mother of Cathryn Jacobson (husband Steven) of Jackson’s Point and Barbara Knowland of Hamilton. Grandmother of Kaley Hepburn (husband Tim), Ashley Knowland, Amy Prentice (husband John) and Jeff Jacobson (wife Kayla). Great- grandmother to Ben and Sarah. Aunt of Caroline Scargall and Paul Smith. George’s son Peter (wife Suzanne) McLean of Orillia and their children Tara Ranger and Ashleigh. She will be missed each day by each and every one of us. For 30 years Anne contributed as a volunteer first at Princess Margaret Hospital and later at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital in Orillia. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Canadian Club and Quota Club, Silver Q Branch. Special thanks to the staff at Leacock Retirement Lodge and Happy at Home. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow.
