AnneElizabeth JOHNSON, (nee Irving)

JOHNSON, Anne Elizabeth (nee Irving) Passed away on August 21, at the age of 101. She is survived by her son Philip (Jane) and daughter Nancy (Sandy), her grandchildren Keith (Giedre) and Niky (Jamie), great-grandchildren Edward and Frank, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Timothy (1963), her husband of seven decades, Dr. Arnold Johnson (2006), and her siblings Joan, Jean and Alexander. Anne was born in Prince Edward Island, lived her young life in Ontario, and her early adulthood in Saskatoon. She was a proud graduate of the University of Saskatchewan. She moved to Montreal to work, where she met and married Arn. During the war years she was seconded to the War Prices Review Board in Washington, DC. In their long life together, Anne and Arn lived in Halifax, Montreal, Chapel Hill, Quebec City, and Waterdown. They also traveled extensively. Friends and family lovingly remember Anne’s lively sense of humour, crisp intellect, and gracious hospitality. We are all richer for having been part of her long and eventful life and will miss her deeply. Her example sets a high bar, and her love encourages us to reach it. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be much appreciated. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.marlattfhhamilton.com
