ANNETTE JEFFERSON

Annette Jean Jefferson (nee Ewing) of Toronto, Ontario, died peacefully on June 15, 2016, at Humber River Hospital with her two sons by her side. Born June 21, 1920 in Toronto, she was predeceased by her parents, William and Lillian Ewing, her brother Ralph and her late husband Leonard Jefferson.

Survivors include her loving sister Lillian McCallum; two married sons and their wives Wayne and Joan Jefferson and Keith Jefferson and Karen Englander; granddaughter Tania (and Richard) Clayton and great-grandchildren Blake and Hudson; grandson Brent (and Laura) Jefferson and great-grandchild Stephen; and three nieces and nephews Sharon, Neil and Colleen.

A quiet and dignified woman with a strong, kind, loving nature, Annette grew up in the West End of Toronto spending many hours with friends dancing and frolicking at the Sunnyside Amusement Park. A stay-home mom, she spent her summers at the cottage taking care of the children, nieces and nephews. Annette loved to challenge herself to learn new skills: taking up driving when she was 50 and continuing to drive until she was 90. Friends, bridge and family occupied her in her later years.

Annette will miss her loving friends and support she received at the Richview Residence in Toronto. The family recognizes the importance it played in keeping her safe and happy.

She is in our hearts forever.
