Antonio Di PLACIDO
Di PLACIDO, Antonio Passed into God’s open arms peacefully at the Hamilton General Hospital on Saturday, March 4th in his 81st year, surrounded in his final days, as always, by the love of his family and friends. He was the beloved husband of the late Clara (nee Angelone) and the deeply loved father of John, Maria, and Pamela and her husband Dan Di Franco. Antonio was the cherished nonno of Marco, James and Clara. Devoted son of the late Giovanni and Maria Di Placido and son-in-law of the late Roberto and Concetta Angelone. He was the loving brother and brother-in-law of Giuseppina and the late Alberto Di Giustino, Emma and the late Gino Silveri, Francesco and Gina Di Placido, Anna and Pietro Rapone, Antonio and Augusta Angelone, all of whom are of Italy, as well as Giuseppe and Silvana Angelone of Hamilton. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews both here and abroad. The only thing stronger than his work ethic was the love he had for his family and friends. A glass of wine, a good story and a song were always ready to be shared. Special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Cardiac Care Unit at the Hamilton General Hospital. Family and friends will be received at the FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton Street East (near James) on Tuesday and Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Anthony’s Church on Thursday at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
