Luigino (Louis) BATTAGLIO
BATTAGLIO, Luigino (Louis) Lou was the second youngest of five brothers and two sisters. He was born and raised in Hamilton. In the service during the second world war, he was briefly stationed in British Columbia, a place he always remembered as being beautiful. He married Ann (nee Curto) and was happily married for 50 years. Together they loved to RV throughout Canada and the USA. After Ann’s death in 1999, Lou moved to Kelowna, British Columbia to live with his only son Nick and family, but he always thought Hamilton to be his home. Lou spent over 40 years working at Duro Aluminum/GSW retiring at the age of 65. In addition to RVing with Ann, making his own wine, and squeezing in a little golf, he enjoyed watching sports – he was a great armchair coach. He will be sadly missed by his son Nick, daughter-in-law Trudy, grandson Jason, granddaughter Jillian and her partner Karlin, his last surviving sibling Antoinette Guy and many nephews and nieces. The funeral will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton Street East, on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery with a lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers and donations, your prayers and expressions of sympathy are very much appreciated and may be sent to www.friscolanti.com
