COOPER, Margaret Elizabeth Margaret Cooper, 98, of Waterdown, died peacefully on Monday, July 18, 2016 supported by her family, the centre of her life, at St. Peter’s Hospice in Hamilton, Ontario. Margaret Elizabeth Douglas was born on January 25, 1918 in Punta del Este, Uruguay. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Vera Douglas, her siblings Katherine, Evelyn, and Sholto Douglas, and her husband Craig Cooper. She is survived by her children Ian (Catherine) Cooper, Jane (Dick) Toews, Peter Cooper, and stepdaughter Elizabeth Salton, and by much-loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren across Canada and overseas. Her nieces and nephews and their families in the UK and elsewhere have maintained a loving connection with her over the years. As family, we treasure the many memories of her life; a life well and fully lived, with loving support offered to the end. A Visitation will be held at KITCHING STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME , 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown, on Friday, August 5, 2016 from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. All are welcome to join family and friends in a Celebration of Margaret’s Life at GRACE ANGLICAN CHURCH, 157 Mill St. N., Waterdown, on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 2 p.m., with a reception to follow in the church hall. If you wish, donations to Doctors without Borders (MSF) or David Suzuki Foundation in her memory would be welcome.
