Rita CURRIE (nee Clement)
CURRIE, Rita (nee Clement) Passed away peacefully January 13, 2017 in her 94th year. She married Corporal Ernest Freve for nine months who was killed in action in World War II (1944). Loving sister to Rene (deceased), Joseph (deceased), Ernest and Henry. Sisters-in-law Claire, Carol Ann, Irene (deceased) and Margaret (Peggy). Rita was widowed for 44 years until she remarried Jim Currie Sr. in 1988, until his passing in 2008. Rita was the proud mother of four stepchildren Wendy Phipps, Diane Cox, Lynn Marie and Jim Currie Jr. Godmother of niece Diane Brennan and several other nieces and nephews. Special friend of Rose Seculich. Many thanks to the volunteers and staff at the McNally House Hospice in Grimsby. Visitation will be held at the CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME at 322 Fennell Ave East from 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Villa Chapel at 391 Rymal Road West on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Elizabeth Home Society Chapel and McNally House Hospice would be appreciated. Cremation to follow.
