DI PIETRO, John Joseph Our Husband, Father and Nonno has moved on to a better place after his courageous battle with cancer. Survived by wife Charlotte, children Laura (Chris), Chris (Sheryl) and Ray. Adored by his grandchildren Miranda (Tyler), Connor, Liam, Emily, Jaime and Tessa. John also enjoyed a special relationship with James, Jessica and Kathleen. Predeceased by his infant granddaughter Elizabeth and siblings Teresa, Angelo, Lisa, Lana, Dante and their spouses, mother Giuseppina, father Domenico and stepmother Antoinetta. Survived by sister-in-law Rose Di Pietro-Mazza, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. John will be forever cherished by family, friends and clients. He enjoyed practicing law for over 50 years. We wish to extend sincere thanks to the teams at Juravinski Hospital, Juravinski Cancer Clinic, St. Peter’s Hospital and the CCAC. Special mention to his nurse Sandy, for going above and beyond. We especially thank Drs. McCarty, Tsakiridis, Fraser, Dhesi Thind, Levine, Shad and Dr. Yang for their compassionate care during his illness. Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home – “William J. Markey Chapel” , 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. (Vigil prayers at 7:30 p.m.). Funeral Mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary Parish on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial donations can be made to Juravinski Hospital or St. Peter’s Hospital. John greatly supported New Path Youth and Family Services for 26 years with his daughter Laura.
