HERRIOT, Doris Eleanor (Trussler) December 29, 1928 – June 23, 2017 Passed peacefully on Friday, June 23rd. She leaves behind her loving daughters Wendi and Jill and sons-in-law Joseph Ricci and Rex Masilamany. Grandmother of Cale and Blake Ricci, all of Toronto. Also sister, Betty Poole of Dundas, Ontario. Doris graduated as a Registered Nurse from East General Hospital and continued her training at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Above all, she enjoyed entertaining. She also loved to play Bridge, having played for over 50 years with her original bridge club. Cross country skiing, sailing, bike riding, gardening, cooking and travelling with her husband and best friend Ross, kept the rest of her life very busy. She will be remembered for her love of socializing and her endless volunteer work at the church and hospital. A Celebration of Doris’s life will be held at Church of the Ascension, 33 Overland Drive, Don Mills, on Friday, June 30. Visitation at 10 a.m. followed by the service at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or MS Society of Canada.
