DORIS JEAN AKA MARGARET TRAVERS (nee FINNESSEY) Volunteer with St. Vincent de Paul Society, Catholic Women’s League and the Civitan Club Passed away with her family by her side, on June 19, 2016 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Leo Travers. Much loved and cherished mother of Mary Catherine Travers (Elaine Amsterdam), John Travers and Joanne Docherty (Bob). Predeceased by son Frank Travers. Sadly missed and always remembered by her dear grandchildren, Kirsten, Erin, Pamela, Tracey, Monique, Issac and great-grandchildren, Sophie, Elora, Noah, Finnessey and Ailish. Doris lived life with fierce independence to the end and with a great sense of humour. Guests will be received at the Steckley – Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie, Ontario, on Tuesday, June 21st, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 65 Amelia Street, Barrie, on Wednesday, June 22nd starting at 2:30 p.m. A Reception will follow at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris’s memory may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society and are greatly appreciated.
