Edgar “Ed” BOYER
1925 – 2017
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ed Boyer. With family at his bedside, he passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital on May 27, 2017. He was predeceased by his loving wife Joyce Kellock Boyer, his brothers Oscar, Ernie and sister Jean. He is survived by his sons Donald, Raymond, daughters Patricia and Lynn, as well as Joyce’s three children, Peter, Bob and Linda, many grand and great-grandchildren. Ed was an active painter and a member and past president of the Oakville Art Society. He was a longtime employee of Pratt Whitney Aircraft Canada, Montreal, Quebec and retired as Plant Manager Supervisor in Mississauga, Ontario. He was a member of Legion Branch 114, Oakville. He will be missed by his family, friends and the staff at Queens Avenue Retirement Residence. A Celebration of Ed’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Glen Oaks Funeral Home (3164 Ninth Line, Oakville). In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Ed’s memory to Ian Anderson House (430 Winston Churchill Blvd., Oakville, Ontario L6J 7X2).
