BLAIR, Edith Alice The family of Edith Alice Blair (née Aikenhead) are saddened by her peaceful passing on July 17, 2017 at North York General Hospital as a result of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Born on February 26, 1935 in London, Ontario, to Harold and Claire Aikenhead, Edith is survived by her husband Bruce; son Brian; daughters Carolyn (Stewart) and Diane; grandsons Keith, Jeffrey and Ross; brother Bruce; sisters Audrey (Bruce) and Dorothy; many nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend Judy Bird. The family wishes to thank the many extended family members, friends and neighbours who generously provided support during Edith’s journey. Gracious thanks are also extended to Dr. J. Silverman and the nursing staff on 3W at North York General Hospital for their very attentive and compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. For those who knew Edith and our family, and wish to join us for a celebration of Edith’s life, it will take place at R.S. Kane Funeral Home at a date to be determined (mid-August or mid-September).
