Egon KEIST
Passed away peacefully in his sleep September 21, 2016, at Ian Anderson House, after a three-year battle with lung cancer, with his beloved spouse Karin Banner at his side. His brother and best friend Fred Keist was with him daily for the last three months. Born in Zurich, Switzerland on March 4, 1939, Egon followed his brother to Canada at age 18. His passion was to travel the world with Karin, and he made one last cruise in June to Norway and Denmark.
Egon was employed by Air Canada as a Flight Service Director for more than 30 years, and worked for CUPE for ten years. He always looked out for the less fortunate and fought for the underdog.
He will be greatly missed by his spouse Karin, his brother Fred, sister-in-law Erika, son William and many friends. A celebration of Egon’s life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Ian Anderson House, Oakville
