COBURN, Eleanor (nee Thomson) – In her 96th year, Eleanor passed away peacefully on March 21, 2017. Eleanor was a strong, beautiful and fun-loving woman to the end of her life. Predeceased by her loving husband, Jack. Dearly loved by her children: Beverley, Walt, Marg (Frank) and Denise. As well as her grandchildren: Ariane, Christopher, Olivia (Chris), Nicole, Julia (Matt), Jake and Kelly. Also her three great-grandchildren: Kieran, Bianka and Aaliyah. Eleanor was youngest of a family of ten who were descendants of the first settlers of Scarboro, David and Mary Thomson. Mom’s siblings were Elsie (William), Leonard (Gladys), Bert (Mildred), Frank, Iva, Ruth, Jean (Cam), Marion (Bob) and Dave (Helen). Special thanks to the caring staff at Chester Village. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of McDougall & Brown Funeral Home “Scarborough Chapel”, 2900 Kingston Rd. (east of St. Clair Ave. E.), on Saturday, March 25th at 1 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior from 12- 1 p.m. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations to SickKids Foundation or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
