Elva WARD (nee Gilbert)
WARD, Elva (nee Gilbert) 2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Passed away peacefully on June 5, 2017 at the Willowgrove LTC in her 97th year. Born in Hamilton on November 3, 1920, eldest child of Roy and Merle Gilbert. Predeceased by her husband Roy. Fondly remembered by her children Dorothy (Tom) and Mark (Faye), also remembered by her grandchildren Linda and Dianna (Will), and great-grandchildren Maya, Sierra and Thomas. Survived by brother Bill, Bob (Beryl), Denis (Lois), Gord (Bev) and sister-in-law Irene. Predeceased by siblings Dorothy, Allan, Ted and Joan. We are grateful that we had Mum for so long, and are very thankful for all the love, support, and prayers as she moved to the end of her life. Special thanks to Linda Ward, Janet Wilmott, Gord and Bev Gilbert, and the caregivers at the Willowgrove. You walked alongside us as family. Visitation will take place at the M.A. CLARK & SONS FUNERAL HOME (567 Upper Wellington Street, Hamilton) on Wednesday, June 7th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A private Christian graveside service will take place at Mount Hamilton Cemetery. A celebration of Elva’s rich and faith-driven life will be at HARMONY BAPTIST CHURCH (1763 Upper James Street, Glanbrook) on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. If you choose to do so, donations made to local charities in remembrance of Elva, would be valued and greatly appreciated.
