ERLE YOUNG
April 4, 1930 – May 23, 2017
Passed away peacefully on May 23, 2017, surrounded by his wife Florence and his children. Erle will be lovingly remembered by his wife Florence of 46 years, his children Debbie Young-Hermanns, Eric Young (Rosa Du) and Elizabeth Young (Loris Giovanatto) and his grandchildren, Christopher Hermanns (Annalease Richards), Michael Hermanns (Toni Burbidge) (with their father Hermann-Josef Hermanns), Kristina Young (Lowell Nelson), Keely Giovanatto, Myles Giovanatto and Wynn Giovanatto as well as his great-grandson, Cayden Hermanns. He is also survived by brothers Jimmy, Sonny, Bill, Bob, Clancy, George and Lloyd and sisters Margaret and Dorothy and extended family.
Born in North Bay, Erle grew up with his large and loving family in Rouyn-Noranda before eventually settling in Toronto. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the exceptional staff at St. Joseph’s Health Centre and the Toronto Rehab Bickle Centre’s Palliative Care Unit for their wonderful care and compassion. Special thanks to Dr. Goodall, Erle’s family physician for over 40 years. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in memoriam to the St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society .
Family and friends are welcome to a visitation at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre at 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, (east gate entrance) from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, May 26th and 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, May 27th. A memorial service will be held at the same location on Saturday, May 27th at 2 p.m., with a reception to follow.
