EUGENE GARNET IVESON Passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Veterans Residence on Monday, July 4, 2016. Dearly loved husband of Betty (nee Ferrier) for 68 years. Loving Dad of Susan Klop (late) (Bill) and Janis Lazarski (Stan). Loving Grampa of Rebekah, Jordan and Joel. Great-grandpa of Hannah, Gabrielle, Elisha, Noah, Ezra, Abel, Leah and Samuel. Gene was a WWII Veteran of the Norwegian Merchant Navy and lived his last eight months at Sunnybrook Veterans Residence. Gene was a believer in Jesus Christ and was a witness to others of his faith. Visitation will be held at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home (8911 Woodbine Ave., Markham, ON) on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place at Chapel Ridge on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Donations, in memory of Gene, may be made to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre or to The Gideons International in Canada.
