FlorenceHelen CHANDLER

CHANDLER, Florence Helen (nee McBAIN) Helen, our beloved Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2017 in her 90th year. An exceptional woman, she raised eight children with the love of her life Joe, who built our family home where she continued to live independently until January. Helen and Joe were active members of The West Scarborough Seniors Club. Widowed at 62, she continued to enjoy cards, carpet bowling and trips with the group and volunteered at The Church of St. Bedes. She was a selfless woman who loved being with her family and her favourite place was home. In her free time, she avidly followed the news and completed the daily crossword and puzzles. Helen was predeceased by her husband Joseph Peter Chandler, mother Margaret MacKay, father Burton McBain and sister Constance McBain. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her brother Ronald McBain (Anna) and her eight children Carole Sisto (Carmen), Joe, Steve, Ted (Eva), Robert (Nancy), Connie (Gaston), Veronica (Norm), Richard (Clara), her ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered by her extended family, friend Susan and those at her church and club. We thank her caregivers at Bridgepoint Health Centre and the Palliative Care Unit at St. Michael’s Hospital. We extend special appreciation to her personal caregivers who compassionately attended to her. Family and friends will be received at Pine Hills Cemetery and Funeral Centre (625 Birchmount Rd., north of St. Clair Ave. E., Scarborough, 416-267-8229), on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. and on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 12-1. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Interment and Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
