GIANNINI, Francesco After a short, hard fought battle and with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Francesco on Monday, May 29, 2017 at the Hamilton General Hospital at the age of 75. Loving and cherished husband for 55 years to Giuseppina (nee Marino). Father of Antonio (Teresa) and their children. Beloved and adored father of the late Mike (Noreen). Cherished and most loved nonno to Michael. Dearest brother to Lucia (Giuseppe Capobianco), Nicola (Bruna) and the late Antonio (Anna Egbers). Special brother-in-law of the late Pietro and Concetta Marino. Uncle Frank will be forever missed by the many nieces and nephews who loved him unconditionally. Immigrated to Canada in May of 1960 to make a better life. Francesco was a 28 year employee for the City of Hamilton and took great pride every year putting together the Mum Show. This lead to his passion for gardening. He also enjoyed fishing, sports and spending precious time with his loving wife. Visitation will be at the L.G. WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 151 Ottawa Street North (905-544-1147) on Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held at 8:15 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, 165 Prospect Avenue on Friday, June 2 at 10 a.m. Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery to follow. A special heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff in the I.C.U. at the Hamilton General who helped Francesco on this journey. Your kindness will not be forgotten. Memorial donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
