FRANCO MARTIN It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Franco Martin, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. Born in San Lorenzo di Sedegliano, Friuli, Italy, in 1929, to Ernesto and Anna. Loving husband to Lucia (Campagna) for 57 years. Dear father to Rita (Berardo Graziani) and Roberto. Cherished nonno of Téana and Tobia. Brother to Eda (Dante Sacilotto), Angelina (Oscar Chiesa), Eugenio (Anna Zoratto) and Mirella (Gian Franco Oliva). Remembered by many nephews, nieces, cousins and paesani. Franco was very proud of his family, work (Mason) and vegetable garden. Always with a smile and a twinkle in his bright blue eyes. He was an active member of the Famee Furlane social club since 1956, when he moved to Toronto, enjoyed being in the company of others and looked forward to attending the annual club picnic and events. The family would like to thank the nurses, staff and doctors at the Malton Village Long Term Care Centre who cared for Franco over the past few months. Visitation will be held at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC FUNERAL HOME, 211 Langstaff Rd. E. (west of Bayview Ave.), on Wednesday, March 1st, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at the funeral home within the Chapel of St. Joseph on Thursday, March 2nd at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
